The Sam's Creek Road facility does not accept brush or yard waste. For your convenience, you may take your brush and yard waste to the Compost Company located at 3643 Hwy 12 North Ashland City 37015. Phone (615) 380-1090 Open Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Requirements for Use:

To use any center you must have a Cheatham County wheel tax sticker on you vehicle or have proof that you own property in the county usually in the form of a property tax statement.

Regulations concerning securing loads at all Cheatham County Convenient Centers and the Sam’s Creek Landfill:

1. All commercial and for-hire pick-up trucks must have load secured with tarp
2. All trailers must have load secured with a tarp
3. All residential loads in truck bed must be secured with a tarp if the load exceeds the level of the truck bed
4. All residential loads below the level of the truck bed must be secured as to not allow load to blow off/out of truck
5. All residential loads in trash cans must have lid secured on tightly

No site can accept latex paint, brush, explosives or hazardous materials. State law prohibits us from accepting these materials. Any questions please call (615) 792-7538.

Did you know? When visiting the scales on Sam's Creek Road we currently only except two forms of payment. Cash or Check only. If you have any questions contact Mike Russell @ (615) 207-6541.

Hours of Operation:
The Scales open Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Closed on Sunday and Monday. The Convenience and Recycling Center is open Monday - Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. except on Sunday when hours are 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The tipping fee at the transfer station for bulk items is $75/ton or $3.75 per 100 lbs.
The tipping fee at the transfer station for tires is $115/ton.
Tires are accepted Tuesday thru Saturday.
If you have more than 20 tires, please call (615) 792-7538 to make an appointment.
When bringing more than 20 tires you are required to bring adequate labor to load tires into the trailer.
There is a minimum $5.00 charge.

 

Acceptable materials:

• Bagged household garbage for disposal
• Bulk items (non-household garbage) such as furniture, appliances of any size, construction    
• debris, tires, carpet, bicycles, boats, gas tanks,
• mattresses and scrap metals. See above hours for scales and fees for these items.
• Now accepting fluorescent bulbs Tuesday and Thursday's only.

All of the following products can be combined and disposed of together (single-stream):

• Office Paper
• Brown Paper Bags
• Paperboard
• Junk Mail
• Phone Books
• Newspaper
• Aluminum Cans
• Tin or Steel Cans
• Cardboard
• Plastic Bottles/Containers #1 and #2

Do Not include: food waste, films, plastic bags, plastic wrap or foam cups and containers.

Other Recyclables (NOT single-stream):

• Used motor oil
• Batteries - cars, lawn mowers, ATV etc.
• Tires
• Constructions Debris
